Her Wild Becoming: A Showcase of Contemporary Women Artists

Her Wild Becoming is a virtual exhibition and print catalog celebrating the evolving voices of contemporary women artists from around the world. Juried by a distinguished panel of art world professionals, including Danielle Krysa, Ekaterina Popova, Alicia Puig, Marina Granger, and Liza Zhurkovskaya, the exhibition explores themes of identity, intuition, resilience, transformation, and the many ways women define themselves through creative expression.

Through a diverse collection of artwork, Her Wild Becoming honors the courage to embrace authenticity, trust one's inner voice, and continually come into one's own, creating a space that amplifies the depth, complexity, and power of women's creative perspectives. The title speaks to the untamed process of becoming, recognizing that our most authentic selves are often discovered not by following expectation, but by reclaiming our instincts, embracing uncertainty, and allowing ourselves the freedom to evolve.

Eligibility: Women artists of all backgrounds, disciplines, and experience levels are invited to submit their work for consideration. Must be 18+ to submit.

We accept all 2D & 3D mediums,includingpainting, drawing, photography, digital, prints, fiber art, collage, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, and installation art. We do not accept film or video at this time.

Danielle Krysa is a curator, writer, artist, and the founder of The Jealous Curator, one of the most influential contemporary art platforms dedicated to championing artists from around the world. Since launching the site in 2009, she has curated exhibitions internationally, interviewed hundreds of artists, and built a global community through her books, podcast, and online programming. Danielle is the bestselling author of Creative Block, Your Inner Critic Is a Big Jerk, A Big Important Art Book (Now with Women), and her newest book, Real Artists Wear Black. Through her writing, she celebrates creativity while making the art world more accessible to artists and collectors alike. In addition to her curatorial and editorial work, Danielle maintains an active studio practice as a contemporary mixed media artist, creating abstract collages and paintings that have been exhibited internationally.

Ekaterina Popova is an artist, entrepreneur, and the founder of Create! Magazine, an internationally recognized publication dedicated to championing contemporary artists. She is also the founder of Create! Collective, host of The Create! Podcast, and co-author of The Complete Smartist Guide and The Creative Business Handbook. Popova believes that our entire life is a canvas and that we have the power to create anything we desire. Through her magazine, podcast, mentorship, and educational programs, her mission is to empower artists with the tools and confidence to build sustainable careers and find validation and success from within. Alongside her work as an educator and creative entrepreneur, Popova maintains an active painting practice, creating lush, colorful interiors that explore themes of home, belonging, memory, and identity. Her work has been exhibited and published internationally

Alicia Puig is the curator & co-founder of PxP Contemporary, Director of Business Operations for Create! Magazine, an arts writer, frequent guest host of The Create! Podcast, and co-author of The Complete Smartist Guide and The Creative Business Handbook. She has worked in the arts industry for galleries, museums, art fairs, private collectors, art publications, and an auction house for over ten years both in the US and abroad. You can find Alicia's writing featured in magazines and on blogs including Create! Magazine, Beautiful Bizarre Magazine, All She Makes, CandyFloss Magazine, Art She Says, and Artspiel, among others. Additionally, Alicia has served as a guest curator for Hastings College, All She Makes, Create! Magazine, Rise Art, and SHOWFIELDS.

Marina Granger is the founder of The Artist Advisory, a New York City consulting firm that offers career guidance to visual artists, galleries, and art-minded businesses. Granger worked in the NYC galleries and museums for nearly 15 years before starting her company. She curated numerous gallery exhibitions and art fair booths during that time. In addition to using analytical business acumen acquired through years of experience and a BA & MA in Art History, Granger also uses the Principles of Classical Chinese Feng Shui to enhance the success of the artists and businesses she works with. Granger was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, and has lived in New York since 1991.

Liza Zhurkovskaya, aka Curator on the Go, is a Toronto-based curator & art advisor. For more than eight years, Liza worked directly with artists helping them make a living through their creative work. In 2020, Liza founded Kefi Art Gallery to support her artists and assist her corporate and private clients with acquiring original art and curating their collections. Liza is known as a community leader who has brought hundreds of artworks to the public eye. Her goal is to support artists while reminding everyone that art is part of a healthy community — and a healthy mind, body and soul.

In addition to selecting a wide range of artists to be featured in our virtual exhibition and print catalog, our team will award special prizes to a select number of artists.

You may submit 1-2 images of your work for $25, 3-4 images for $30, or 5-6 images for $35.

You do not need to include the dates of artwork that you submit.

Work does not have to be for sale to be included in this exhibit. We include work that is for sale, along with work that is not available.

Requirements:

• Please be sure to include high-quality images of your work, 72 DPI, minimum 800 pixels wide

• All images must be cropped to show only the artwork (with the exception of 3D work)

• Bio, 300 words max

• Artist Statement, 300 words max

• Files no larger than 10 MB

All communication regarding this exhibition will take place via Submittable. Artists will be notified within 4-6 weeks after the deadline.

This exhibition will be presented in October 2026.

Visionary Art Collective's mission is to uplift artists through magazine features, exhibitions, podcast interviews, and our mentorship programs. Submission fees go towards funding our platform, offsetting operational costs, and compensating our team and curators. These contributions enable us to continue offering a wide range of opportunities, programs, and resources for artists worldwide. Please note that submission fees are non-refundable.
