ARTIST STATEMENT
I am an artist for whom the search for identity—both individual and collective—is essential. I seek answers to the questions: Who are we? Who am I? My work reflects both an internal response to humanity’s impact on the environment and a deep engagement with women’s issues, including rights, corporeality, and sexuality. I incorporate archetypal symbols, inspired by Carl Gustav Jung, as bridges to deeper self-awareness and understanding of reality. These symbols resonate universally, stimulating imagination, emotions, and subconscious reactions. Through them, I engage in a dialogue with the canvas, the viewer, and myself. The experience of sensory, subconscious, and intuitive perception materializes in my paintings. Color, emotion, gesture, and form become manifestations of my internal process—experiencing, feeling, and transforming what has occurred. I explore the invisible, accessing an altered state of consciousness, where painting becomes a form of meditation and introspection. I paint, repaint, and layer until i sense a work is complete. Onto the canvas, I transfer my joys and sorrows, reflections on life, and the human condition. I abandon perspective and realism, prioritizing color and the energy of gesture. Forms emerge—distorted, sometimes primitive, deformed, or blurred. I instinctively reach into the realm of personal imagination and fantasy, creating at the threshold between waking life and dreams. My paintings narrate personal experiences and subjective feelings, yet the truths they reveal remain universal. Seemingly simple, they conceal hidden meanings. One must look deeper to uncover them, engaging not just with the visual but with the emotional and symbolic layers beneath the surface. Each painting is a journey, an exploration of both personal and collective consciousness. It is through this process that I connect with my inner self and the world around me, bridging the seen and the unseen.
